Hi Ya All!
The text was lost in the email that went out for the Blog last week...a slight technical malfunction. But it's back, and it's got some great info from Pauline about Chitting Potatoes! You can read it by going to http://www.broadstonecommunitygarden.com/blog/job-well-done-folks-gettin-ready-for-spring
For this week, Pauline suggests getting in on the home planting action by growing Sweet Pea seedlings. She says: "...plant sweet peas into pots in a cold room or green house and barely moisten soil. They're best kept on the dry side."
Apparently, Sweet Peas in the early stages are liable to rot, if the room is too warm or over-watered. So if you have a cool place that gets lots of sun, you have the perfect conditions to get those seedlings growing!
And as one of the projects in the garden this year is a "Bee Garden", full of native flowers for our bee populations, I thought I'd share this Really Great Ted Talk about Bees!
