We have a load of manure that was delivered to the Garden yesterday, and would love some help from our Members this Saturday and Sunday at noon to help distribute the stuff on the beds!
Thanks Nicko and staff from Cherry Orchard Community Garden for helping unload...it was a bigger job than we thought it would be, as it had to be shoveled out!
Damien will be up at the Garden at noon as usual Saturday, but will be taking a little field trip to our neighbours up at Serenity Gardens (Western Square) to help break down some compost and bring back a bit. Excellent opportunity to meet up with another crowd and get your hands dirty!
Any beds that haven't gotten the new manure treatment on Saturday (all beds should get the treatment covering as they are old plants, except for the onions and garlic -- manure should be distributed around them, so the leaves can still get sun! :) ) need to be finished off Sunday.
So if Saturday doesn't work for you - your second chance to get your hands dirty is at noon on Sunday with Gwen, bring along a shovel or spade if you got one!
I'll be at the Millenium Park, the first An Taisce event Community Growers event of 2015 myself on Saturday...meet me at Broadstone Garden at 10am sharp if anyone wants to join me in grabbing the bus up to Blanchardstown!
Enjoy your Valentines Weekend everyone, and Happy Gardening!
