The days are shorter, the nights are colder but the garden continues to ebb and flow through the winter months. We've harvested most of the produce from this year, tomatoes, beans kale and herbs whilst the Christmas spuds and artichokes are ripe for plucking
We've put some beans down for the spring but most of the beds are being weeded and mulched for the months ahead. A bit of up keep is need to the beds and planters so the volunteers will still be over at the weekends. Swing by and say hi!
We're also delighted to have some students from UCD contribute a permaculture mound to the garden, we look forward to meeting them.
On 15th October 2016, Eithne Bentley passed away. Eithne was a core member of the group who gave great advice over the years on what to plant in the garden. Eithne was well liked and is deeply missed.
One year on in her honour, a tree planting ceremony took place along with some of her ashes. These trees will continue to remind everyone of what a part of
the spirit of the garden she was and is.
